Counselor
Deciding to begin therapy is a brave and meaningful choice, and you don’t have to take the first step alone. Julianna will meet you with warmth, curiosity, and a nonjudgmental presence. Whether you’re coming in feeling stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood, or just unsure of what you or your child need, you’ll find a space where your thoughts and emotions are welcomed with compassion and clarity. Rooted in a person-centered approach, Julianna believes that healing happens through genuine connection and collaborative growth especially when working with children and families.
Julianna specializes in working with children, adolescents, and young adults, as well as partnering with parents and caregivers. She supports families navigating challenges such as anxiety, emotional regulation, ADHD, behavioral concerns, perfectionism, family transitions, and school-related stress. Her approach helps children and teens put language to their big emotions, while helping parents better understand what’s going on beneath the surface. If you’re a parent feeling overwhelmed, unsure how to respond to your child’s moods or meltdowns, or just needing fresh tools to strengthen connection you’re not alone, and support is available.
Julianna uses a combination of play therapy techniques, creative interventions, and social-emotional learning to connect with kids in developmentally appropriate ways. For teens, she creates a safe space where they can explore identity, self-esteem, and emotional ups and downs without judgment. She integrates evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), while also drawing on Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT) to help foster trust, insight, and resilience across the therapeutic relationship.
Her style is warm, collaborative, and flexible, ready to meet both clients and families where they are. Julianna prioritizes the therapeutic relationship as a space for safety, growth, and sometimes even laughter. Whether she’s helping a child regulate their emotions, a teen navigate friendships, or a parent feel more equipped and understood, she’s committed to building strong, supportive relationships with the entire family system.
Julianna is a Graduate Student of the CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Missouri—St. Louis. She is supervised by Kathy Simmons, M.Ed., LPC, NCC.
Julianna is Welcoming New Clients at the 14135 Clayton Road location and sees clients ages 5-18, parents and families.
