Mary is a strong believer in human connection and forming deep, meaningful relationships with her clients. She believes that one of the biggest indictors of a successful counseling environment is a strong therapeutic relationship. Mary facilitates a judgement free counseling environment that serves as a safe space for clients of all ages, identities, and experiences. She utilizes a person-centered approach in therapy, as she believes that you are the expert on your life, experiences, feelings, and emotions. Mary finds that taking this person-centered approach along with techniques from Emotion-Focused Therapy and a strengths-based perspective can be very beneficial and positive in effecting change in her clients lives.
Mary provides services to children, teens, and adults. She completed her graduate practicum at the University of Missouri – St. Louis’s counseling center where she served a wide variety of populations including women’s issues, LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, students, domestic abuse survivors, body image concerns, and anxiety. Mary has a strong interest and passion in working with various women’s issues, particularly pregnant and postpartum clients.
Mary is currently completing her M.Ed. at the University of Missouri – St. Louis in their CACREP Accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program and is scheduled to graduate in December 2023. She has completed all her required coursework for graduation in addition to specialized education regarding minority populations, women’s issues, and couples and family counseling. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2019 from Lindenwood University with a major in Psychology and a minor in Business Administration. Mary is participating in Get Centered’s CIT and PLPC Academy and is supervised on-site by Kathy Simmons, M.Ed., LPC, NCC #2019040721 with additional supervision from the Clinical Director Kim McGuiness, M.Ed., LPC, NCC #2019003417.
Mary sees clients ages 8-adult, couples and families. Mary’s hours of availability:
- Wednesday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Thursday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Friday 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
- Telehealth & Extended Hours and days available upon request
Rates:
- Individual session $100 (first session with intake is 90 minutes; $150)
- Couples session $120 (first session with intake is 90 minutes; $170)
- Family session $130/50 minute session; for up to 4 individuals (first session with intake is 90 minutes; $200 )
* NOTE: Based on Counselor in Training status Mary’s fee is self-pay and she does not provide a superbill option for Out of Network consideration.
