Counselor
Are you seeking thoughtful, compassionate support for yourself, your child, or your relationship? Sophie offers a warm, supportive therapeutic space where individuals and families can feel understood, empowered, and supported as they work toward meaningful growth and lasting change.
Sophie works with adults, children (ages 5+), adolescents, couples, and parents, with a strong focus on self-esteem, emotional regulation, women’s issues and family relationships. She supports clients navigating anxiety, stress, trauma, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, behavior concerns, and complex family dynamics.
When working with children, Sophie creates a nurturing, child-centered environment where young clients can safely express themselves, build emotional awareness, and develop essential coping and regulation skills. She values collaboration and works closely with caregivers, understanding that lasting change happens when families feel supported as a team.
For adults, Sophie provides therapy centered on strengthening self-worth, confidence, and emotional resilience. She frequently works with women navigating life transitions, identity development, motherhood, relationship challenges, burnout, and the pressure of balancing multiple roles. Her approach is collaborative and empowering, helping clients develop insight, emotional clarity, and healthier patterns.
Sophie also offers parent coaching, partnering with caregivers who want guidance, tools, and confidence in supporting their child’s emotional and behavioral needs. Drawing from her extensive experience as an elementary and middle school counselor, Sophie helps parents better understand their child’s development, strengthen parent-child connection, improve communication, and implement practical, effective strategies at home and school.
Sophie uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, as well as creative, play-based interventions. Each session is thoughtfully tailored to the individual or family’s unique needs, with a holistic focus on growth, confidence, and resilience.
In couples counseling, Sophie supports partners in improving communication, strengthening emotional connection, and rebuilding trust. Using a supportive, non-judgmental approach, she helps couples identify patterns, enhance mutual understanding, and build healthier relationships.
Sophie is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri and earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. She currently serves as an Elementary School Counselor and brings over nine years of experience supporting students and families through individual and group counseling focused on academic, social, emotional, and personal development.
