Kim McGuiness, Counselor/Get Centered Clinical Director
M.Ed., LPC, NCC
When working with Kim your initial reaction will be one of comfort and relief. Kim recognizes how difficult it can be to make the choice to see a counselor. She understands the feeling of dread in finding the right fit and more importantly finding someone that is willing to do more than listen. Kim knows how we all find ways to rationalize our feelings, yet wonder if there is more to life. She recognizes how we carry anxiousness and sadness and how that can lead to feeling overwhelmed and influence how we react at home, work and school.
Kim believes many of us hold onto our experiences so tightly they impact not only our thoughts, but create symptoms in our bodies and put stress on how we communicate with our family and friends. Kim’s 20 years of experience in human resources and consulting shows up in sessions in how she helps clients find strategies that work for them as individuals, in relationships with others, or as a family. It has been said that "Kim helps clients create a strategy toolkit for themselves to use and help them feel real change". She is convinced we each hold a purpose in life and she is eager to help you interrupt old patterns that are no longer working for you in order to feel a freedom in being the person you know you can be.
Kim completed her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Missouri St. Louis after past corporate, consulting and inpatient clinical work. Kim works with individuals dealing with a variety of struggles and has been trained or certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gottman Couple’s Therapy, Mindfulness, Grief, Play Therapy, Safe Zone, Assessing and Managing Suicide Risk. Megan Patterson, Counselor
M.Ed., PLPC, NCC
Let’s be honest: starting therapy can sound intimidating. Because of this, Megan invites those from all walks of life to have a seat in her office, and explore what therapy looks like together. She believes that as human beings, we are not cookie cutter- so our treatment shouldn’t be either! Having a space to be your true, authentic self is something Megan strives to collaborate and build with her clients. She is open-minded and meets you where you are- no matter where that may be (even virtually!). She believes in the power of connection and collaboration, working alongside her clients to explore patterns, develop effective communication skills, and foster healthier dynamics within relationships. With a blend of warmth, humor, and expertise, Megan creates a safe and nurturing space where clients can explore their feelings, identify strengths, and navigate their way toward healing and growth. So while therapy may sound intimidating, with Megan it doesn’t have to be.
Are you feeling stuck in a relationship that's lost its spark? Dealing with the aftermath of infidelity? Perhaps it seems like your family members are speaking different languages, leaving you feeling disconnected and frustrated. Or maybe you've just moved out on your own for the first time, negotiating new boundaries with your parents as you navigate independence. Are past traumas resurfacing as you transition into adulthood? Maybe you see your daughter, who was once an outgoing beam of light, starting to recluse and close off from friends at school. Megan specializes in working with families of all compositions, relationships of any nature (including couples and polyamorous dynamics), older teens and young adults facing life's transitions, and addressing women's issues to help women feel accepted and confident in their skin from ages 10 and up. If any of these situations resonate with you, or if you're grappling with anxiety, navigating life changes, struggling with your sense of identity and self-confidence, or simply seeking a friendly and understanding ear to help untangle the thoughts in your mind, Megan is here to support you.

Megan utilizes an integrative approach utilizing techniques from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Systems Theory, Schema Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Biological Psychological theories in her practice, but wants her clients to know they don’t have to fit in any box.
