Child, Youth, Teen Counseling – Counseling for children, youth and teens is a therapy approach that provides help to youths, who are experiencing stressful environments relating to home, school and/or trauma events. Many times children face similar challenges in their day to day lives as adults and do not have the language to describe their emotion or the skills to manage their behaviors. Some of these common issues include anxiety, depression, and grief. The goal of counseling for children, youth and teens is to break down their problems into smaller parts so they can better understand where their feelings are coming from and strategies to use to cope with them in a healthy way.
Individual Counseling – Counseling for individuals is a therapy approach to work with adults one-on-one in a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space. Counseling allows individuals the opportunity to explore their beliefs, emotions, behaviors and work through challenging or influential memories that define how they see the world. Working with a counselor is different than talking to a family member or friend because a counselor has only your goals and desired change in mind. A counselor can help guide you in seeing perspectives different than your own that can create a new path and pattern for healthier living.
Relationship/Couples Counseling – Counseling for relationships/couples is a therapy approach to work with individuals in a partnership. During relationship counseling the areas of strength will be highlighted in order to foster things that are working well. In addition time will be spent on identifying and resolving any pain points in your relationship. This is a gradual process that requires effort and focus from all parties. If your partner refuses to go to therapy with you, you may be able to change the dynamic of your relationship just by going to individual therapy. However, statistics show that couples or family therapy is usually faster and more effective than individual therapy alone. Practice, patience, commitment and open-mindedness are key ingredients when entering into couples counseling.
Family Counseling – Counseling for families is a therapy approach which can help improve troubled relationships between partners, children or other family members. In family counseling issues such as marital or financial problems, conflict between parents and children, or the impact of substance abuse or a mental illness on the entire family could be explored. Learning as a family the situations that cause stress, grief, anger or conflict can be a way to understand one another better and learn coping skills to bring everyone closer together.
Career Coaching – Coaching for careers is to help professionals make informed decisions about their career goals. Typically career coaching focuses on results, actions and accountability starting with where you are right now. Career coaching can be done at the time a student is wanting to find a job to start a career, building a new business, figuring out what’s next on your career path or even retiring. Career coaching will give you the tools and processes to make smart professional decisions and find out which opportunities exist, what you are good at, and what you want from life.
Life Coaching – Coaching for life will support you in clarifying your goals, determining the things that are getting in your way, and then come up with strategies for overcoming each obstacle. Life coaches target your individual skills and gifts when determining strategies that will help you achieve long-lasting change. Today a growing number of creatives, executives, and entrepreneurs are now teaming up with life coaches to attain success in their professional and personal lives.
Team Coaching – Team coaching works by identifying the client as the team. The team can be a team leader with direct reports, or any combination of individuals that work together toward a common goal. A Team Coach will work alongside each of the members of the team for common goals based on how the whole team’s performance is evaluated. Individuals in a team are interdependent and a team coach provides the insights as to how to gain momentum together and be effective in our increasingly team-oriented workplaces.
