Counselor/Therapist, Certified K-12 School Counselor
Lily’s goal and passion is to positively impact the lives of all clients, and she appreciates the privilege to work with clients to achieve this endeavor. Her understanding of her role as a therapist is to serve as an actively engaged member in the counseling relationship and to help her clients help themselves flourish in all facets of their lives. We cannot change what we do not know is possible to change, and Lily believes that a large part of a therapist’s purpose is to show clients what is possible.
Lily utilizes an integrative approach to counseling in order to tailor each client’s experience and meet their individual needs. Her foundation is a Rogerian, person-centered approach, as well as a strengths-based approach in which the therapist and client together hold the belief that the client has the capacity and strength to help themselves. Often, despite trauma, loss, pain, and suffering, even the most distraught person has the propensity to access their innate drive to heal and grow. Humans are incredibly adaptable and malleable, and these traits can be employed to shape a happy and productive present and future.
Lily graduated from the CACREP-accredited Master’s of Education Counseling program at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. To be able to serve a wide population, Lily completed the Clinical Mental Health Counseling track as well as earned School Counseling certification. Lily has a wealth of experience in mental health and has worked in the counseling field in a range of therapeutic settings. These experiences equipped her with an array of skills and provided the opportunity to view clients from multiple lenses.
Lily is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified K-12 School Counselor. Additionally, she is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American School Counselor Association (ASCA). Lily is actively training for her Sex Therapist Certification as well as working toward becoming a Certified Gottman Therapist to support clients with relational and/or sexual issues.
