Counselor
Mary understands the decision to seek counseling can be complex and finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. You may not even know why you’re seeking therapy; you just feel lost. Whether you know what brought you here or you’re just looking for a space to explore yourself, my goal is that you feel welcome and supported. Mary deeply understands the importance of feeling seen, understood, and validated in therapy and works diligently to create that atmosphere for you. Human connection and authenticity are two principles she lives by and fosters in her counseling space. When you feel safe to be yourself, you can truly begin addressing the areas of your life that you wish to change. While therapy can be hard work, there’s always room for laughter and enjoyment in the process.
Maybe you’re a new mom feeling overwhelmed during pregnancy or postpartum. You could be a couple experiencing tension in your relationship due to stress, parenting or a life transition. Perhaps you’re a young adult feeling lost and anxious about the next chapter in life. Or maybe you’re a teen navigating the many stressors of school and personal identity. You could be experiencing heightened emotion, intrusive thoughts, or find yourself noticing that life feels heavy right now. If any of these situations resonate with you or you find yourself struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, emotion regulation, sense of self, life transitions, parenthood, women’s issues, or perinatal/postnatal concerns, we might be a great fit.
Mary works with teens (13+), adults, couples, and parents, tailoring her approach to each client’s unique needs. She incorporates evidence-based practices and interventions from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT), while always approaching her clients from a person-centered and strengths-based lens. Mary earned her M.Ed. at the CACREP accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at the University of Missouri – St. Louis. Mary is also working towards earning her PSI certification in Perinatal/Postnatal Mental Health. She has completed additional coursework in working with women’s issues, LGBTQ+ and culturally diverse populations, couples counseling, and family counseling.
